Renaissance
Montessori School, Inc. (RMS) was incorporated
as a non-profit organization in April of 1992 by a group of
Montessori-certified teachers and parents. Our purpose in establishing
the school was threefold: 1) To offer an affordable, quality,
accredited educational alternative; 2) To address the
shortage of Montessori services in the southwest metro area;
3) To found a non-profit organization in which the members
are active participants in the management. Our board composition
maintains a ratio of teachers (founders), parents and at large
community members.
The
school was established in Bethel United Methodist Church. Our
enrollment for the 1995/96 academic year created a need for a
larger facility. We relocated to the Church of the Incarnation
in June of 1996. We presently have two Primary classes (ages
2 1/2 - 5), one Lower Elementary class (grades 1, 2, and 3),
and one Upper Elementary class (grades 4 and 5). The schools
long range plan is to build a facility which will serve the Primary
program, the Lower Elementary, and the Upper Elementary, as well
as a Toddler Community.
